The object of the Desert
Dining Club in the UK is to encourage a greater understanding and interest in
desert regions.
The Club looks to achieve
this by holding one event a year in an interesting place where members
meet for dinner and hear a short talk by a member or visitor with
current knowledge of general interest to impart.
The Club has a membership
of over 100 within the UK and in other countries, comprising engineers, travellers, anthropologists,
archaeologists, surveyors, geographers, geomorphologists, botanists, artists etc
Anyone with an interest
in deserts is normally welcomed to apply for
membership
